The faculty, staff, and students of Maceo A. Horne Learning Center joined together and organized a Food and Toy Drive.

HLC faculty participated in a Stop Teen Violence Forum.Delta Sigma Theta Inc.'s Valdosta Alumnae Chapter sponsored the Stop Teen Violence Forum on Saturday, November 3, 2018.

In an effort to motivate and encourage our students, Maceo A. Horne Learning Center has an Honors Day program to celebrate the accomplishments of our students at the end of each grading period. On October 31st, students were recognized for their achievements during the 1st Nine Weeks.

Maceo A. Horne Learning Center celebrated Red Ribbon Week, an annual nationwide campaign for drug awareness. The students and teachers had an opportunity to participate in a variety of activities.

Mr. Keith Hose, principal of the Horne Learning Center (HLC), an alternative school in Valdosta City Schools, was named Administrator of the Year at the Georgia Association of Alternative Education (GAAE) Conference.
